At a glance
- All 380 open state schools in the Birmingham local authority: primary, secondary and all-through.
- Distances are straight-line, the same basis most Birmingham schools use for their distance criterion.
- Ofsted abolished single-word ratings, so none are shown; every school links to its official report page instead.
- Independent (private) schools are not included, and being nearest does not guarantee a place.

How to use this properly
Distance is usually the deciding criterion, but it is not the only one: siblings, faith criteria and catchment definitions sit above it at many schools, and each school publishes its own arrangements. Treat this page as your shortlist builder, then read the arrangements for the schools that matter and check how far places actually reached in recent years, which the council publishes after each allocation round. Our admissions guide walks through deadlines, offer days and how the allocation works.
