New Cabinet confirmed
Birmingham City Council’s new Cabinet has been confirmed, with Cllr Paulette Hamilton named the new Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care.

Leader Sir Albert Bore said: “Many functions devolved to district committees now need to be taken forward by the Executive. Accordingly, a new Cabinet post has been set up to give a focus to the ‘Place’ agenda.
“This will allow us to develop a more integrated delivery of services for residents, in consultation with the Executive Members for Districts.
“This post completes a complement of ten Cabinet Members, including the Leader and Deputy Leader.”

Sir Albert added: “I believe that the Cabinet Members appointed will deliver on their portfolios to the great benefit of the residents and businesses of Birmingham. The Cabinet Members for 2014/15 remain in the Cabinet, although John Cotton moves to a new portfolio.
“I’m especially pleased to welcome Paulette Hamilton to the team. She’s had a considerable number of years of experience in the health field and was the city council’s mental health champion in 2014/15.”
